oldcityhall.gifThe City of Berkeley government is highly active in the sustainability movement and partially funds Sustainable Berkeley through Community Energy Services Corporation.

Key Resolutions:

  • Measure G to reduce Berkeley's Greenhouse Gase emissions by 80% in 2050.
  • Zero Waste Goal to reduce Berkeley's waste by 75% in 2010.
More on Measure G: In November 2006, Berkeley voters issued a strong mandate for the City to aggressively reduce GHG emissions by passing Measure G with over 81% of the vote. The Measure directs the Mayor to work with the community to prepare an emissions reduction plan with specific targets by the end of 2007.
